Try a cliché

http://www.golod.com
Make sure you get early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. Wake up and smell the coffee, every morning. Or tea, depending on what you prefer. Don’t forget to eat your breakfast which should include a apple because a apple a day keeps the doctor away.

Remember in traffic, to mind your manners. Don’t always look out for number one and let someone through in traffic.

Get to work and keep your eye on the ball, mind your own business at work and break a leg.  If your work is boring, remember if life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

At the end of your work day, make like a tree and leave. If your boss gives you problems, put your foot down but don’t burn your bridges.
I promise you, by doing all the things I have advised you to do; it will be a load of your mind.  However, if you don’t take my advice, it’s no skin off my back.

Feelings follow behaviour

http://www.theonion.com
I personally disagree with this statement. I think behaviour follows feelings. According to Proverbs 23:7, “as  a man think in his heart (mind) so is he.”

So its pretty simple, what you think, determines what you feel and what you feel determines your actions and behaviour. This is the secret behind the Conscious Living books such as The New Earth by Ekhart Tolle and books alike as well as the widely known book, The Secret.

These books tell you in basic terms: you manifest intangible and tangible things in your life. Therefore, before you manifest anything in your life, by faith and grace of God, you have to change your thinking.

http://en.wikipedia.org
Your thoughts determine how you see and experience the world. If you think constantly and have a busy overworked/ overloaded mind, its will definitely show itself in your life. For instance, If you think negative thoughts, life will only show you the negative things in your life. Life always gives you want you expect of it.

In conclusion, thoughts lead to feelings; feelings send out an energy force to the universe and this is what we attract. What we attract will determined our behaviour so thinks thoughts that build and strengthen you rather than the opposite.

http://a-lonely-walk.blogspot.com
Remember: God created man in his own image, according to His likeness(Genesis 1: 27). God  also THOUGHT (intangible) before He created anything that manifested itself in life (became tangible). This is exactly the same process for us humans, who have God living inside of us and are ultimately, gods on earth. What we think in our hearts (minds), we feel and therefore become. Behaviour (thinking) follows feeling.

Entry 15: Go (Jeremiah 1:7)

Uhuru struggled to get a flight to India because getting a seat was a problematic affair. When she finally did get a flight, she was offered non-vegetarian meals and even though the air hostesses smiled incessantly, Uhuru was irritated at the lack of information given about delays.

Uhuru arrived in India to very hot conditions that she was not used to. Uhuru had read that the heat starts to build up on the plains of India from around February and by May it becomes unbearable. “I swear, every time I move, I perspire. I just hope I get used to this weather soon, very soon” Uhuru thought as she struggled with the climate conditions.

She called Paavai to let her know about her arrival. Paavai suggested she takes a taxi to Delhi, where Maran’s family was living. Delhi was 13 km from the airport. For Uhuru it was the longest 13km she had ever experienced on the road.  She spent most of the time in the taxi bewildered yet pleasantly surprised at what she saw around her.

Entry 14: Change is constant (Genesis 12: 1-3)

Uhuru contacted Maran’s family and told them she would be visiting India soon. The family was looking forward to seeing her.  She planned her trip, imaging the sun rays of India, the colours, the lights and serenity of the country.

Uhuru spent the next two weeks sorting out admin so she could go to India with no hassle. She needed someone to either stay in her home or regularly check up on it, so she hired Sylvia as her house sitter. Uhuru was nervous to leave the house with a complete stranger, but she trusted Sylvia. Sylvia on the other hand, seemed excited to have her own personal space for the next few weeks.

Uhuru spoke to her personal assistant, Francine and asked that she regularly collect Uhuru’s mail from the post office. Uhuru also set up a temporary forward email so that Francine would receive and respond to all her emails when she was gone. “Don’t worry Uhuru, I know you’re a workaholic but I will take care of things this side. You go to India and enjoy yourself,” said Francine in a calm tone.

At this moment, Uhuru realised that she had never taken a break from work longer than two weeks. She was having withdrawal systems and the thought of not having work to keep her mind busy, made her very nervous.

It is better to practice a little then talk a lot

http://www.toplifequotes.com
Last year I did my internship in a Public Relations agency and it taught me life skills that I will never forget. I learnt the importance of working hard and smart while minding my own business. I found I was able to concentrate on creating work that I could be proud of and soon I was able to see that others respected, valued and trusted the work I did within the organisation.

It is Benjamin Franklin who once said “well done is better then well said.” I agree with this and  even though there will be times when your work and capabilities are questioned and undermined, be still, focus on what you need to do and get on with your work.

I truly believe that ones work speaks for itself. There is no need to prove anything to anyone, defend yourself, or try to be anything your not. Just be sincere in the work you put out and you will reap the rewards of that.

Entry 13: New heart, new spirit (Ezekiel 36:26)

Uhuru was looking forward to seeing Paavai, but more importantly, she was looking forward to visiting all the places that Maran visited. She felt it would bring her closer to him and bring some form of healing.

http://modernlifeblogs.blogspot.com
Uhuru spent her lunch break at work drawing up a list of all the places in India that she wanted to visit. This brought back memories of the time when Maran and her were in India during the Diwali festival. It was one of the happiest festival of the Hindu calendar and she loved how at night, countless oil lamps were lit.

The festival lasted five days and during that time, Uhuru enjoyed the festival with Maran’s family. She truly felt her relationship with his family became stronger during this period and was looking forward to creating new memories with them.

Wedding cake-in-the-middle-of- the road

Nervous bride walks down the aisle.
Handsome groom, his name is Lyle.
Bride beautifully dressed.
Father feels depressed.
Mother cries tears of joy.
Lyle acts excited as if he were a little boy.
http://muneeraallie.blogspot.com
The priest gives endless blessings.
As they do at weddings.
Uncertainty chocking her.
She realises his a deceiver.
Silence instead of an ‘I do”
The guests did not have a clue.
Lyle was confused.
She felt misused, abused and therefore she refused.
She looked into Lyle’s eyes.
And saw the truth in disguise.
It was never meant to be.
He didn’t want this, neither did she.
She decides to flee.

Head down, heavy feet hitting the ground
Looking at the church door, her freedom she’s found.
She keeps running, trusting
That the road ahead only leads to one thing, true loving.

As she kept running, she noticed a wedding cake- in the middle of the road.
Her laughter and joy overflowed.

Entry 12: A light burden (Matthew 11:28-30)

“India?!” Uhuru said in shock.
“Yes India, the family really wants to see you, especially me.” Paavai stated.
“I haven’t thought about India in a long time Paavai and honestly, I don’t want to think about India.” Uhuru said sorrowfully.
“I know India holds precious but painful memories. However coming to India might help you remember the good about Maran. You might even heal Uhuru. We all know that’s what you need right now.”  Paavai said persuasively.
Uhuru interrupted her, “I’m not sure Paavai, but let me think about it.”
“Great, you won’t regret coming here, I know you won’t.” Paavai said in excitement
Uhuru heard the enthusiasm in her tone. “Don’t get too excited, I said I’ll think about it.”
“Ok, that’s better then nothing. Listen, I have to go but we will chat soon.” Paavai said with hope in her heart.
Uhuru smiled, “yes, of course and thank you for the call.”
“My pleasure and take care Sister.” Paavai dropped the phone, but before she did, Uhuru had made her decision. She knew that Maran would have wanted her to do this. Her spirit agreed and in excitement, she shouted “I am going to India!”
