Uhuru contacted Maran’s family and
told them she would be visiting India soon. The family was looking forward to
seeing her. She planned her trip,
imaging the sun rays of India, the colours, the lights and serenity of the
country.

Uhuru spent the next two weeks
sorting out admin so she could go to India with no hassle. She needed someone
to either stay in her home or
regularly check up on it, so she hired Sylvia as her house sitter. Uhuru
was nervous to leave the house with a complete stranger, but she trusted
Sylvia. Sylvia on the other hand, seemed excited to have her own personal space
for the next few weeks.
Uhuru spoke to her personal
assistant, Francine and asked that she regularly collect Uhuru’s mail from the
post office. Uhuru also set up a temporary forward email so that Francine would
receive and respond to all her emails when she was gone. “Don’t worry Uhuru, I
know you’re a workaholic but I will take care of things this side. You go to
India and enjoy yourself,” said Francine in a calm tone.
At this moment, Uhuru realised
that she had never taken a break from work longer than two weeks. She was having
withdrawal systems and the thought of not having work to keep her mind busy,
made her very nervous.
