Uhuru spoke to
the driver and quickly learnt that all taxis are metered but the meters are invariably
out of date. The driver kindly said to Uhuru, “the meter is not working madam.’
Uhuru was slightly agitated at this but decided
to not get worked up about it. She paid the driver scale of revised charges and
jumped off at Delhi to wait for Paavai to fetch her.
Uhuru found it
relatively easily to find her way around Delhi, although it was very spread
out. She walked around a bit and spotted interesting buys that included silk
products, precious stones, leather and woodwork. She promised herself that she
would visit Delhi again with Paavai during her stay.
