It was all hugs and laughter
when Paavai fetched Uhuru from Delhi. Uhuru was pleased that she had made the
decision to come to India. She didn’t realize how much she has Maran family and
now considered them her family more than ever.

The thought of Maran
made Uhuru feel a sense of peace. She felt close to him now that she had
arrived in his birth place. She remembered how Maran spoke avidly about India
and how much he loved his country. In the beginning of their relationship, he
told her stories about India and his upbringing till the wee hours of the
morning.
She even remembered the
first time they had arrived in India to meet his family. Maran’s family was
slightly shocked at his choice for a wife. They had hoped he would take a
partner who they thought was best for him. But the family eventually accepted
her, like Maran had said.
